EXPERIENCE/ACCOMPLISHMENTS
IBM Canada Ltd. – October 1997 to Present
Led, managed, developed
and implemented 9 financial transaction based interfaces for a large pension
administration organization. Peter led a team of 4 developers through the interface development
life cycle from initial process discovery through implementation. Peter’s role as team lead included planning,
resource management, estimating, issue management and status reporting. Peter’s team successfully implemented 9
semi-automated interfaces into a high volume transaction based pension
administration environment.
Managed, migrated, merged
and documented the development environment of a pension administration package. As Merge Manager for a
technical integration team of 15 developers, Peter was responsible for the
integration of code blocks and components into the master development
environment. Responsibilities included
quality assurance, version control, documentation management, and code
integration. The successful integration
of all aspects of the development environment resulted in a smooth transition
from the clients’ legacy environment to the new pension administration package.
Designed, developed and
implemented a population based funding tool for the health care sector. Peter worked as a database
developer on a team that created and implemented a server controlled population
based funding tool for the health sector through the analysis of an existing
desktop application. Peter’s role on the team included
specification gathering, database development, test plan development, unit and
system testing, and acceptance testing support. The team successfully created an application designed to meet the
increasing volume of health care service data as the overall population of the
province ages.
Led and managed a small
technical team that created over 20 applications used to support the provincial
Year 2000 effort in the health care sector.
As the technical team lead for this year
2000 project, Peter was responsible for the successful development and
distribution of a series of inventory analysis, asset management and test
tracking databases used by the
health care sector. His role included
requirements gathering, task management, team mentoring, client management,
trouble shooting, application development and client training. Peter chaired a number of meetings, which
provided a forum for the regional health authorities to make technical requests
and share knowledge and experiences with each other during the continuing work
on the year 2000 problem. The resulting
success of the year 2000 project led to a very satisfied client and the
awarding of a Bronze Premiers Award of Excellence for the work performed by the
team.
City of St. Albert – May 1992 to September 1997
Analyzed, maintained and
repaired a variety of Water and Wastewater equipment for a municipality of
50,000 people.
Peter’s unique experience in his role as a Water and Wastewater
technician allowed him to maintain and repair a water and waste water
distribution and management system. His
‘front-line’ exposure to the public tuned his professionalism and client
management abilities as he was often in residential homes servicing water
and/or wastewater equipment. As a
member of a team that was responsible for this municipal infrastructure, Peter
operated analysis cameras, programmed down-hole data loggers and maintained
pumping systems controlled by a central SCADA system. Peter received a number of letters of commendation from residents
in the municipality on his professionalism and knowledge of wastewater
infrastructure.
Sturgeon General Hospital – January 1992 to May 1992

devices in a variety of clinical settings.
Peter assisted in the testing and certification of equipment being used
in the facility to meet the Canadian Standard Association requirements. He consulted on a daily basis with medical
and clinical staff to ensure that the current technology was meeting the needs

application of health care services at its most direct delivery point.
